Welcome to The Okie Museum Crawler!
Hi, I'm Jonathan. I'm glad you've made it this far. My site is meant to be an inspiration for you and me to get out of the house and go look at stuff. It doesn't have to be a formal plan. You could be passing a museum on the way home from breakfast and you decide to stop in and see something beautiful or historic. You don't have to be a nut like me and aspire to see everything. You can pick a few things that are kind of close to your house and go. The goal is to get over pandemic-mindedness and the idea that being cooped up is the only way to live.
The Okie Museum Crawler is a guide to exploring the fascinating museums and collections in the great state of Oklahoma. My website is dedicated to showcasing the rich cultural heritage, art, history, and oddities found in the numerous museums across our state. Here, you'll find photos, info, and a few stories to help you embark on your own exciting museum-hopping adventure around the Sooner State. Join me as I uncover the hidden gems and extraordinary exhibits that make Oklahoma's museums truly remarkable. I'm a proud Okie and this is my way of letting everyone know about us.
And finally, nearly all the photos except the one of me on this page, were taken by me. A few, and I do mean very few, exceptions are photos I've lost or the museum didn't allow photography and the internet had one that was close. You can see that some photos are a little wonky or leaning. That's either because I was trying to get a shot that didn't have gallery lights reflecting in it, or I was just standing crooked. I may have one leg longer than the other! HA! Also, all the words on my site were written by me. I use AI for a few things in my life, but writing hasn't been one of them. I'm more for quality posts rather than churning out an endless supply of half-assed "Content". Anyway, I hope you enjoy looking around the site and all the Okie museums. Hopefully, I might see you out there.
Much Love, J.
