Hi, I'm Jonathan. As a long time artist and patron of the arts, I have seen the good, the bad, and the ugly parts of the art world. In my opinion, we can do without all the pretension and snobbery. You don't need fancy words and a philosophy degree to talk about and enjoy art. The old saying "I don't know art, but I know what I like" is one of the great truths about life AND art. If you like a piece, you don't neccessarily have to explain why. You can just think it's beautiful and move on to the next one. Easy. This website is for those of us who have grown weary of art posers and faux intellectuals. Let's learn to not give so much credence to their inflated egos and stop letting them influence how we see and make art. Art is for everyone. Art is for us. Now, if you want to explore the nuances of art, the meaning of pieces, and the language used to describe art like a professional, then please do that. It's important to develop a sense of wonder about art. What I'm saying is it isn't required by everyone. It's fun, just not mandatory. You can enjoy art without becoming an expert at it.
This site is also meant to be an inspiration for you and me to get out of the house and go look at stuff. It doesn't have to be a formal plan. You could be passing a museum on the way home from breakfast and you decide to stop in and see something beautiful. You don't have to be a nut like me and aspire to see everything. You can pick a few things that are kind of close to your house and go. The goal is to get over pandemic-mindedness and the idea that being cooped up is the only way to live.

And finally, nearly all the photos except the one of me on this page, were taken by me. A few, and I do mean very few, exceptions are photos I've lost or the museum didn't allow photography and the internet had one that was close. You can see that some photos are a little wonky or leaning. That's either because I was trying to get a shot that didn't have gallery lights reflecting in it, or I was just standing crooked. HA! Also, all the words on my site were written by me. I use AI for a few things in my life, but writing hasn't been one of them. I'm more for quality posts rather than churning out an endless supply of half-assed "Content". To me, creating content means "I can't think of anything truly good, so I'll make scads of nonsense and hope that one of those things accidentally catches on so I can get world famous for fifteen minutes."
