OKLAHOMA CITY
The first time I went to Factory Obsura on 9th Street in Oklahoma City, it was for an art show that was happening in the space next to the actual Factory. Part of it, but separate kind of thing. I had heard stories about how crazy it was in there, but I hadn't taken the time to go. When I finally got my butt down there, I was impressed with the work it took, and continues to take, to make this a very unique experience.
A little bit about the place, it was concieved by a group of artistic minded people who wanted a fully immersive joyride that employed all five senses to give you an art experience like none you've had before. And I think they succeeded. When we checked in at the front desk, we were handed spectral glasses that reminded me of Luna Lovegood's glasses from the Half-Blood Prince movie. After I stopped quoting Luna's lines from the movie, we went into the exhibit. The glasses weren't completely necessary, but they definitely enhanced the experience. To misquote another movie Trippy is as trippy does.
Without a sense of needing to be anywhere else, I took my time and looked at evey aspect of the surreal, walk through exhibit. It's one of those things that you can't really explain to someone who hasn't been through it. So, y'know, go through it. You'll be glad you did. If for no other reason thatn to say "Yeah, I've been there." to those who start to tell you about their experience there.
